About Jacquelyn
I started with rabbits in 2014 with a set of angora wool bunnies. After a few months and lots of searching I brought home my first netherland dwarf rabbits. They are one of the smallest breeds and a very popular pet and show breed. My very first litter was born in December of 2015, and since then I have raised many litters.
Bringing rabbits into my life was initially a project for my Agriculture Program in high school. I was intrigued and curious in learning about the color genetics with the netherland dwarfs and how the colors were developed. After graduating, I decided to expand and learn about more breeds. I added Holland Lops, Thrianta, Dwarf Hotot, and rescued some meat mutt rabbits. I love all my bunnies and hold the netherland dwarfs dear to my heart, yet I love each rabbit for their individual personality. Yes! Bunnies have personalities :) I took a break from raising bunnies for pets after moving from Connecticut to New Hampshire. I have missed having little babies around, and spontaneously ended up breeding and having a few litters over the winter of 20-21. I have been rehoming several bunnies that I felt I couldn't give proper attention and love. Now that I am at a more manageable number of buns, I hope to casually raise a few litters a year to develop my own blood lines. One day I would like to be able to try and help save a heritage breed that is endangered- such as creme d'argent rabbits. |
